The TBI Vision
TBI is a nine month discipleship program for ages 17-25 that lays strong “Foundations For Life,” so they can pursue God’s destiny for their lives. Most young people need stability and direction, so TBI has proven to thousands to be a safe place to mature in a Christian environment.
TBI’s History
In May of 1989, the Burchfields moved their ministry headquarters from Houston to Columbus, Tx and began Discovery Camp, a 10 week summer program which now gathers 730 church groups and 20,000 children and youth. In April of 1990, Pastor Tommy was preaching in Lagos, Nigeria when the Holy Spirit gave these clear instructions, “Go home and begin the Bible School.” In 1991, the first class began with forty students, some of which are now on faculty.
The Founders
Pastors Tommy and Rachel Burchfield are veterans in ministry with over thirty years of experience in gathering churches and working with youth. They are the Founding Pastors of the amazing Believers World Outreach Church in Katy, Texas and are highly respected among Christian leaders. Their three children are actively involved in ministry and many of their sixty staff have been with them for fifteen years. In a day that’s cluttered with “flash and splash,” the Burchfields stand out as authentic, time-proven, spiritual parents to thousands of TBI alumni who now live around the world.

To The Parents
God called the Burchfields to work with young people thirty years ago. He gave them a compassion to love them, a grace to live with them, and an anointing to motivate them to pursue God’s plan for their life.
The world your young person lives in is quite different from the world you grew up in. Statistics confirm that 75% college professors in America teach moral relativism which says that there are no absolutes and no right or wrong. Most do not believe the Bible is inspired. Is your child spiritually ready to deal with that environment?
As parents, we know your concerns: a loving, safe environment, affordable tuition, supervised activities, and individualized attention for your young adult. Parents are always welcome to visit any TBI function. Our objective is to join your hands and help your child develop unshakable “Foundations For Life.”
